I learned how to cable without a cable needle. It's tricky and you need to have fast fingers. I dropped a few stitches towards the top.
It's a warm hat and will get a lot of use (especially in Southern California). I'm thinking ski trip now that winter is here.
Someone lucky might get an early Christmas present...after all...it is the season to be giving
